As we all ease our way into Monday, it seems only fitting to provide an entertaining, easy to watch, laugh-out-loud funny video via Columbia Sportswear.
Of course, there’s more to the silly cat video than first meets the eye.
For roughly the past two and a half years, Columbia has switched marketing gears entirely. The company has made a shift in its public image from laid back, slightly unexciting but always dependable to experimental, fun, youthful and even innovative. What’s more, the company doesn’t take itself too seriously.
The result is videos like this one, a series of “Great Moments in Trying Stuff,” (check the #TryingStuff hashtag for Twitter if you’re so inclined).
It appears that taking a lighter tone to its marketing campaign has worked to Columbia Sportswear’s favor — propelling it into a new market alongside the likes of Nike, Adidas, Lululemon and other innovative companies.
