Oh, Come On: A Tale of Two Hotels

This week, our winning Oh Come On moment comes to you via us here at Look-Solutions. The tale is as follows:

*Recently, due to cost-cutting measures, my VP announced that we needed to review our travel costs and put a cap on all spending as it related to air, hotel and car. So, when having to go to a conference that I was participating in, I realized this: the hotel hosting the event was $100.00 dollars a night over our premium per day. As a result, I couldn’t stay there — and was forced to stay 25 miles away in a less expensive hotel. Of course, this meant I had to get up one hour earlier and drive to the conference location.

On the day of, I arrived and presented, and after, asked my VP who was also attending (but not presenting like me) how the traffic was for him. He turned to me and said, “What traffic?” And added, “I just had to the ride the elevator down from my room…”

Oh, Come On.

Each week, we’ll ask you to provide your own Oh, Come On moment for us to share with the world. Shoot an email to Looking@look-solutions.com with a story you have to tell of a coworker or someone you know in the workforce who did something utterly idiotic. We’ll then share it in a list in each week’s post (while absolutely honoring your desire for anonymity; all stories will be posted sans names), and at the end of each week, we’ll provide the person who gave us the best Oh, Come On moment with a $10 Starbucks gift card! After all, who doesn’t deserve a few cups of coffee for having put up with workplace idiocy? We all do

Now it’s your turn! Send us your Oh, Come On moments and next thing you know, you’ll be feeling better, sipping coffee and smiling that you’re not the only one who’s had to deal with one or two ridiculous and absurd workplace situations.
